Where you can ‘trunk or treat’ Friday night
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Is your family looking for a safer option for trick-or-treating? Multiple options are happening around the Charleston area on Friday evening.
The tradition of trunk-or-treating is often held a few days before the Halloween holiday as an alternative to sending children house-to-house in search of candy.
Instead, candy and other treats are handed out from the trunks of decorated vehicles in tailgating style.
Dorchester County Parks and Recreation will hold its trunk or treat at Davis-Bailey Park (5109 E Jim Bilton Blvd.) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Dress in your best costume and trick-or-treat around the parking lot or take a ride on the “Happy Train”. Guests can also grab a sweet treat from Sweet Southern Chill, which offers shaved ice, Dippin’ Dots, donuts, candy, and lemonade.
Mount Pleasant Recreation Department’s trunk or treat happens at the Carolina Park Sports Fields from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.
In addition to trunk or treating, guests can enjoy a photo booth and a petting zoo. A hot dog cart will be on-site for dinner, and concessions are available for sale. Costumes are encouraged!
Enjoy a Halloween carnival with trick or treating at St. Andrews Park and Playground (1095 Playground Road). Guests can enjoy games, candy, and light scares during the haunted hayride.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Admission is $5 per child (admission is free for adults and children under 1.) Tickets are $1 per person to ride on the haunted hayride.
People are encouraged to register.
