Blake Wells, born on the outskirts of South Carolina’s Capital City, is the new afternoon host on Classic Country 98.5
Although having the passion for the airwaves since he was in High School at Lower Richland in Hopkins SC, Blake learned just how tough the industry is to get into. Fast Forward 13 years, college courses, a life changing move to Charleston, and tons of life lessons later he had his first shot at 30 years old as an intern on one of the Lowcountry’s Flagship morning shows. He stayed on past the internship, learning, practicing, and taking in as much as he could, and it was not long after he was offered a full time position as well as his own weekend shows. In his first year full time with the group, he was nominated for City Papers “Best Radio Personality” as well as Post and Couriers “Best Radio Host.”
Today, Blake’s radio career is thriving. He is producing and co-hosting ESPN FanTalk with Bobby Hartinon ESPN 98.9 and his knowledge and love for all kinds of music, left it an easy fit to have him host weekends on Old Skool 92.1
