Seacoast Church Summerville to open Warming Center amid cold weather

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – With chilly temperatures in the forecast, Seacoast Church Summerville will open its Warming Center this week to offer shelter to individuals without adequate heat or experiencing homelessness.

The Warming Center, located at 301 E. 5th N. St. in Summerville, will provide cots with linens and pillows, a warm dinner, and a takeaway breakfast for guests. While men, women, and families are welcome, the facility currently cannot accommodate pets.

Please note that showers will not be available this week as the church’s Shower Trailer is being used by partners in Asheville to assist their community in recovery efforts.

Warming Center Details:

  • Location: 301 E. 5th N. St., Summerville, SC 29483
    Entrance & Bus Stop: Back door facing Gum St.
  • Operating Hours:
    • Sunday, December 1: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
    • Monday, December 2: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
    • Tuesday, December 3: To be determined

Additionally, Holy City Missions at Aldersgate Church and Hibben United Methodist Church will also open their warming centers beginning December 1.
