Round 2? Tory Lanez Sentencing Delayed As His New Lawyer Reportedly Preps Request For New Trial
Tory Lanez is reportedly set to request a new trial following the guilty verdict in his shooting case last month.
Right before Christmas break, Tory Lanez was found guilty in his gun case involving the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The guilty charges included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and having an unregistered and loaded firearm in a vehicle. Lanez was taken into custody immediately after the verdict was revealed. While he was scheduled to be sentenced this month it seems he may make an attempt to regain his freedom.
Tory Lanez Sentencing Delayed As His New Lawyer Reportedly Wants A New Trial
Earlier this week Tory Lanez rightfully changed attorney’s representing him. He switched from George Mgdesyan who represented him in the most recent trial to David Kenner. Kenner most famously represented Snoop Dogg in his 1993 murder case.
Regarding Tory Lanez’s Tuesday court date, yes, there is a date listed on the jail roster. It’s not on Judge Herriford’s calendar, and he’s got a bunch of other stuff at the time. Attorney David Kenner confirmed to me last week he’s now representing Tory. pic.twitter.com/gDGlHtovzP

Along with new representation came the news Lanez’s sentencing is being delayed a month.
Rapper Tory Lanez’s sentencing for shooting Megan Thee Stallion has been rescheduled from Jan. 27 to Feb. 28 as his new lawyers prepare to ask the judge to grant him a new trial. This was finalized in court a few minutes ago.

It seems Kenners first action is pushing for a new trial for Lanz. If he will be successful in his efforts or not is yet to be seen but due to his track record, we may see this case play out yet again.
Tory’s new lawyer David Kenner, pictured leaving the courthouse, spoke briefly reporters.
“I look forward to litigating the motion for new trial.”
He said he knows the issues he’ll be raising “but I’m not prepared to share them at this point.”
“We are very confident though.” pic.twitter.com/IWmd6kPFtY
