Morning fire damages 11 units at Palms Apartments

CHARLESTON, S. C. (WCBD) – An early morning fire damaged multiple units at a West Ashley apartment complex.

Crews with the Charleston Fire Department responded to the Palms Apartments around 4:30 a.m. and found “rapidly progressing fire conditions” in one of the buildings.

Surrounding buildings were evacuated as a precaution, and firefighters conducted searches to ensure everyone was safely out of their units.

No injuries were reported. Officials said 11 units were impacted by the fire.
