Man dies after vehicle strikes utility pole, catches fire: coroner
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A man died Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle collision in Moncks Corner, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell said the collision occurred near the intersection of Highway 17A and Highway 52.
The male driver was the only occupant when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole before catching on fire.
The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
