LIST: Tree lighting ceremonies happening in the Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – ‘Tis the season to be festive, and towns across the Lowcountry are getting in on the holiday spirit with tree lightings and fun Christmas celebrations.

The first municipal tree lighting of the season happens in Summerville where Hutchinson Square is decked out with brilliant lights and shops featuring seasonal window displays.

Below is a list of when you can enjoy a holiday tree lighting in your area:

Town of Summerville Christmas Tree Lighting – Tuesday, December 3 at Hutchinson Square beginning at 6 p.m.

Colonial Lake Tree Lighting – Friday, December 6 – The city and Charleston Parks Conservancy will “Light the Lake” at Colonial Lake along with the hundreds of luminaries surrounding the lake. Guests can enjoy food trucks and plenty of fun during the event.

Georgetown Tree Lighting – Friday, December 6 at Francis Marion Park. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.

City of Goose Creek Tree Lighting – Friday, December 6 at the Daning Amphitheater from 5:30 – 8 p.m. The tree lighting begins at 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy caroling and cocoa around the tree with many activities after the tree lighting!

Hanahan Tree Lighting and Holiday Market – Friday, December 6 at the Hanahan Amphitheatre from 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Guests can also enjoy a local vendor market, free activities for kids, and performances from school chorus groups and bands. Plus, Santa Claus will be there!

Town of Moncks Corner 31st Annual Tree Lighting – Friday, December 6th at Unity Park on Main Street from 5 – 8 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy vendors along Main Street, food trucks, games, and live performances.

Sullivan’s Island Tree Lighting and Fireworks – Friday, December 6 at Stith Park at 6 p.m.

St. Stephen Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting: Happening Friday, December 6 at Alice Price Park from 6 – 9 p.m. The parade will start at St. Stephen Episcopal Church and run along Hwy 45 to Alice Price Park.

Charleston Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 7 in Marion Square. Join Charleston Mayor William Cogswell as he and special guests light the city’s official tree after the parade earlier in the day.

Isle of Palms Holiday Street Festival – Saturday, December 7 on Front Beach and Ocean Boulevard. Festivities begin with a festival from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. featuring live music, carnival rides, local arts and crafts vendors, and visits from Santa. The city will light the tree at 5:30 p.m. and Santa Claus will stop by for visits from 4p – 6p.

North Charleston Parade and Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 7 at the new Park Circle Community Building from 5 – 8 p.m. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. and Mayor Burgess will begin the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.

Ravenel Tree Lighting – Saturday, December 7 at the Ravenel Train Depot. The tree lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m.
