Johnson & Johnson Single-Dose Vaccine Authorized by FDA
The United States Food and Drug Administration has authorized the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. CNN reports the single-dose vaccine “checks nearly all the boxes.”
The vaccine is currently authorized for thsoe over the age of 18, is single dose and does not need special storage.
“We need a vaccine that can be quickly mass produced,” said Dr. Greg Poland, head of the Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group. “We’d want to see a reasonable duration of efficacy and protection.”
