Hanahan to ring in holiday season with Christmas tree lighting and vendor market
HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – It’s the season to be merry and the city of Hanahan provides the perfect atmosphere to welcome holidays.
Residents and visitors are invited to the city’s annual Christmas tree lighting and holiday vendor market on Friday evening.
The night will feature family-friendly activities like pony rides for children, train rides, and visits with Santa Claus. Plus, there will be entertainment from school chorus groups, bands, and local dance studios.
Guests can shop at local vendors and enjoy a bite of food from many area food trucks.
Hanahan’s recreation department has added a community Christmas tree, and residents are encouraged to bring hand-crafted ornaments to hang on the tree.
Festivities take place between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at the Hanahan Amphitheater (3100 Amphitheater Ave.) with the tree lighting happening at 6 p.m.
The fun will continue on Saturday with the city’s Christmas parade. The parade begins at the Hanahan High School at 10 a.m. The route will travel down Murray Drive to Belvedere and make a left on Loftis then Yeamans Hall to Murray Dr and back to Hanahan High School.
