Goose Creek to host ‘holly jolly’ Christmas parade Saturday morning

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – A parade of floats, bands, and many organizations will march down St. James Boulevard on Saturday morning.

Goose Creek’s annual Christmas parade begins at 9:30 a.m. The route starts at Old Moncks Corner Road and will travel down a long stretch of St. James Avenue to Marilyn Street.

The Goose Creek Recreation Department said road closures will be in place at Old Moncks Corner Road beginning at 6:30 a.m., and the rest of the parade route at 7 a.m.

Closures include: Westview Blvd., Crowfield Blvd., Central Avenue, Button Hall Ave., Wilmer Ave., Thomason Blvd., Laurel Ave., Etling Ave., Farm Road, Marilyn Street, and St. James Ave.

“After the big guy comes through, please remain patient and aware as the Goose Creek Police Department works to safely re-open the roads,” organizers said.

Goose Creek Recreation Department will have three stages along the parade route: in front of Publix, and near the Masonic Lodge, and at 129 St. James Avenue near the strip mall entrance.

“Please note that if you are viewing the parade near the end of the route, it will take about 30 minutes for the floats to arrive! Hang in there & build up the Christmas spirit,” the recreation department said.
