Excavator strikes gas line in Dorchester Co, road closed

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – First responders are on the scene after an excavator hit a high pressure gas line in Dorchester County.

Clay Field Trail in Summers Corner is shut down while crews work in the area.

There is no expected time when the roadway will reopen. Law enforcement asks drivers to avoid the area and to follow directions of on-site responders.

Officials also ask people in the affected area to stay indoors if possible.
