Driver killed after hitting tree along Colleton County road

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed in an early morning crash on a Colleton County roadway.

Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Sidney Road at Bull Eye Lane, roughly three miles north of Canadys.

According to Glover, a 2002 Nissan Frontier was headed north on Sidney Road when it ran off the right side and hit a tree.

The driver, who was the only occupant, died at the scene.
