Dorchester District Two schools place in the Top 10 at international HOSA conference

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Congratulations to these Dorchester District Two Schools for placing in the Top 10 at the HOSA International Leadership Conference.

Ashley Ridge High School

  • 2nd Place – Team: Isabell Jackowski, Kayla Wilcox, Anabelle Salcido, and Lia Harrington

Fort Dorchester High School

  • 4th Place – Team: Britney Tran, Himakshi Patel, Haylee Robertson, Thao Nghi Nguyen, Sydney Mueller, and Michelle Park

DD2 says HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience.

This year’s conference featured 68 international secondary teams and over 11,300 student competitors. The topic was Technology Addition: How to Protect Ourselves Teams presented a 4-minute presentation, and the top 36 teams advanced to present to a judging panel.

Ashley Ridge HOSA chapter was recognized with a Certificate of Merit for contributions made to the HOSA Service Project, NMDP and received Gold level recognition for hosting blood drives with more than 250 donors.

Riley Bruder of Fort Dorchester also received a HOSA scholarship and was recognized at a special dinner.
