ABC News reports that a federal judge in New York has denied Sean “Diddy” Combs’ latest request for bail, concluding there is “clear and convincing evidence” that the music mogul poses a danger to the community and that no combination of conditions could reasonably ensure public safety.

Judge Arun Subramanian referenced compelling evidence of Combs’ history of violence, including video footage from a 2016 incident involving his former protégé Cassie Ventura, as a basis for his decision. Although Combs’ legal team argued the footage was “altered” by prosecutors, Subramanian noted;

“Even in the version submitted by Combs, there is clearly violence.”

This marks the fourth time Diddy has been denied bail. As previously reported, his defense team offered a $50 million bail package that included house arrest in a secure Manhattan apartment, and heavy restrictions on visitors and communications. Still, the court expressed doubt that such measures would prevent potential tampering with witnesses or other violations, reports ABC News.

Prosecutors also alleged that Combs had violated jailhouse rules at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, using other inmates’ phone access codes to avoid monitoring of his communications. Judge Subramanian stated,

“Combs’ willingness to skirt Bureau of Prisons rules underscores why the Court cannot reasonably assure compliance with release conditions.”

Diddy is currently locked up in Brooklyn, facing sex trafficking and racketeering charges. His trial is scheduled for May 2025. Despite several attempts to secure bail, he’ll remain behind bars for now.

Amid news that Diddy’s bail request was denied, Aubrey O’Day, formerly of the Bad Boy group Danity Kane, celebrated on social media.

“Take that, take that,” she wrote on X, mocking the disgraced mogul’s famous saying.

She then followed up in a tweet noting that she’s still advocating for all of Diddy’s alleged victims, including herself, to get justice.
