Deputies arrest suspect in North Charleston stabbing

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man early Thursday morning regarding a stabbing incident on Wednesday.

Rashad Kadeem Broughton, 34, of North Charleston is charged with Attempted Murder for a stabbing that occurred Wednesday evening, officials say.

CCSO says the arrest was made around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Deputies were performing foot patrols in the 2600 block of Warm Ave. when they stopped Broughton walking in the roadway. According to officials, while speaking with Broughton another individual approached deputies and told them Broughton stabbed him earlier that evening.

CCSO says the victim had a large puncture wound to the chest. The victim was provided medical attention and later transported to a local hospital.

Deputies say Broughton had an outstanding warrant for Trespassing out of North Charleston Police Department.
