Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed during crash on I-26 eastbound

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A motorcyclist was killed in a Saturday evening crash on I-26 eastbound.

Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal identified the victim as 48-year-old Quincy Poaches of Charleston.

Officers with the Charleston Police Department (CPD) responded to a deadly single-vehicle crash on I-26 near mile marker 219 and asked people to avoid the area.

Coroner O’Neal said Poaches died at the scene around 5:26 p.m. from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating.
