CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston police officers are searching for two suspects who allegedly tied a dog to a tree and abandoned it, the agency said.

On Oct. 8, animal control responded to reports of a distressed dog on a part of the West Ashley Greenway around 2 p.m.

Control officers found a tan and black rottweiler tied to a tree with no food or water and several wounds to its face, neck, ears, and legs, Charleston police explained.

After finding surveillance video, the officers saw two individuals tie the dog to the tree and walk toward Playground Road.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the police department at 843-720-2422 and request to speak with the on-duty central detective or via e-mail at https://charlestonpd.fususvault.com/tips.
