Chanukah in the Square returns Dec. 29
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The 17th annual Chanukah in the Square celebration will return to Marion Square in just a few days.
The Jewish holiday begins at sundown on December 25 and runs through January 2 this year. To mark the occasion, community members and local leaders will gather in the park on Sunday, Dec. 29th for a celebration filled with friends, food, and fun.
“Bring an appetite and your Chanukah spirit,” said organizers from Chabad of Charleston. “We will supply the hot food, the live music, and the festive atmosphere! There will be no shortage of treats for everyone.”
Chanukah in the Square happens from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Expect hot latkes, donuts, hot pretzels, hotdogs, burgers, chicken soup, and many snacks like kettle corn during the event.
The event culminates in the lighting of the menorah candles as a community.
