Autopsy identifies woman’s remains found in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) — Female remains found in a suitcase in Walterboro have been identified after an autopsy.

Victoria Jean Beach, 32, of Walterboro, was identified as the female after an autopsy performed at the Medical University of South Carolina on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Walterboro Police were notified of a possible missing woman and began interviewing her acquaintances. This led them to a location on Moore Street, according to Tavara Edwards, spokesperson for WPD.

Once they arrived, they smelled a foul odor coming from an abandoned building and found the remains of Beach in a suitcase.

SLED was requested to assist in the investigation. Walterboro Police’s investigation is ongoing.
