Nick Cannon Challenges The 'Eurocentric Concept' Of Having One Family

Nick Cannon’s personal life overshadows all the work that he’s putting in on these streets.

The mogul welcomed four children last year, making him a father of seven. Cannon appeared on The Breakfast Club to explain why there’s nothing wrong with him procreating with multiple women.

“But why do people question that? That’s a Eurocentric concept when you think about the ideas of, like, you’re supposed to have this one person for the rest of your life, and really that’s just to classify property when you think about it,” he said.

He continued, “Because we’re so indoctrinated into it, like, ‘We have to have it this way,’ I don’t subscribe to that. I actually think women are blessing us. Those women, and all women, are the ones that open themselves up to say, ‘I would like to allow this man in my world, and I will birth this child.’ So, it ain’t my decision, I’m following suit.”

Nick Cannon shares a set of twins with Mariah Carey, another set of twins with Abby De La Rosa, a daughter and a son with Brittany Bell, and he just welcomed his youngest son in July.

He spoke candidly about this co-parenting technique with the singer in an interview with People Magazine in 2018.
