U.S. Coast Guard rescues three boaters after boat strikes sea wall in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Three people were rescued by the US Coast Guard on Monday morning after their boat crashed into a sea all in the Cooper River.

According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, it happened around 6:30 a.m. at the old Naval Yard shipyard near the Federal Training Center.

Officials say a small boat belonging to a dredging company hit the sea wall, injuring three people.

There is no word on how the collision occurred, or the extent of injuries.

SCDNR, North Charleston Police Department, North Charleston Fire Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the call.
