Charleston Regional Aviation Authority to manage Berkeley County Airport, county says

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Regional Aviation Authority will help manage the Berkeley County Airport beginning this summer.

Berkeley County Council approved an agreement during a meeting held Tuesday for the aviation authority to manage and operate the county-owned, public use airport off Whitesville Road.

The county will lease the 236-acre site to the Charleston Regional Aviation Authority beginning July 1, 2025, and all employees at the airport will transition to employment with the CRAA.

β€œOur dedicated staff will be joining a team of experts who offer resources and opportunities that should bring significant and lasting improvement,” said Berkeley County Supervisor Johnny Cribb in a news release from the county.
