Summerville man killed in North Charleston road rage incident
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 50-year-old Summerville man was killed in a North Charleston road rage incident Thursday, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Kristoffer Wilson died at Trident Medical Center shortly before 1 p.m. from a gunshot wound.
North Charleston police officers responded to Ingleside Drive and Zeppelin Drive around 7:50 a.m. that morning for an alleged road rage incident.
When they arrived, they learned Wilson had been shot in his torso area.
According to a police report provided by the department, witnesses said the victim was driving erratically when the suspect vehicle drove up a turn lane to confront the man.
Elliott Antoin Huggins is accused of throwing a cup of coffee at the Wilson’s vehicle and then at the Wilson as he exited the vehicle.
Wilson allegedly then grabbed the passenger mirror of the vehicle Huggins was in, and that is when he was shot.
Huggins is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
