Crews clear Broad Street after ‘suspicious package’ deemed safe
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Several streets near the “Four Corners of Law” were closed Friday afternoon for what was initially deemed a suspicious package.
Several agencies responded to a section of Broad Street near the county courthouse, including law enforcement, fire, EMS, and a Charleston County hazmat team, out of an abundance of caution.
Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office told News 2 the package was determined to be safe, and the scene began clearing around 1:14 p.m.
