Multiple fire crews responding to incident at JM Steel in Berkeley County
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Multiple fire agencies are responding Wednesday to an incident at a steel processing facility in Berkeley County.
Crews were dispatched to JM Steel, located off Cainhoy Road, for a structure fire just after 8 a.m.
News 2 crew at the scene reported heavy smoke coming from a warehouse on the property.
The fire is “deep in the building around the pit,” according to firefighters.

Nearly a dozen fire trucks were on scene.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
