Pawleys Island PD alerts residents to rising scam call threat

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — The Pawleys Island Police Department is alerting residents about a phone scam occurring in their area.

Authorities reported that a scammer was impersonating law enforcement from the Pawleys Island Police Department concerning a court proceeding.

“Please do not let yourself be duped,” the police department posted online.

Authorities ask that if residents need help verifying, to call them at 843-237-1698.
