Multiple people injured after Wisconsin school shooting: police

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin say that multiple people were injured after a shooting incident at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison.

The shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. on Monday, the Madison Police Department said.

Authorities said multiple injuries were reported and the investigation is active and ongoing. Police did not release the exact number of people injured nor the extent of their injuries.

“More information will be released as it is available. We currently need people to avoid the area,” Madison police said in a statement.

Roads in the area are blocked off.

Abundant Life Christian School has about 390 students from kindergarten to 12th grade, according to the school’s website. This was the last week of school scheduled for the year ahead of the Christmas vacation.
