You can honor local women who lead and inspire others

News 2 invites you to celebrate and honor the inspiring women in your life. We want to hear about those who uplift their communities, drive positive change, and lead with passion, kindness, and resilience.

It’s our annual Remarkable Woman campaign – you can nominate someone in your life and community deserving of special recognition by submitting a short essay telling why she is so amazing.

News 2 has enjoyed receiving your submissions over the years and we have profiled a diverse group of ladies from scientists, doctors, educators, social justice advocates, and spiritual leaders.

Here’s how it works. You take a few minutes to nominate a remarkable woman who is making an impact here in the country by writing a short essay. A panel of judges will then select four finalists, which we will have the privilege of profiling each week in March.

Then we will announce the local winner in April and she will receive a $1,000 donation to the nonprofit of her choice and a trip to Los Angeles where she’ll meet remarkable women from across the country – and enjoy plenty of surprises – culminating in a national winner being chosen from the group.

Recognizing remarkable women not only honors their efforts but also inspires others to take action and contribute meaningfully. Your nomination can shine a light on their hard work, amplify their impact, and celebrate their achievements.

“As the winner of the 2024 Remarkable Women program, I experienced significant personal and professional inspiration and growth that boosted my confidence and inspired me to uplift, inspire, and motivate others in my community,” said last year’s local winner, Dr. Janie Wilson. “The Remarkable Women program encouraged me to remain an effective leader and advocate, deepening my commitment to continue working towards positive change.”

Who Should You Nominate?

  • A volunteer or leader who makes a difference in your church or nonprofit
  • A mentor who inspires young people or future leaders
  • An advocate who raises awareness for important causes
  • A neighbor who constantly helps and supports others in need

We encourage you to get involved by clicking here and filling out the short questionnaire. You have until December 20th to submit your nomination.
