North Charleston police arrest student who allegedly brought gun to school
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded Tuesday to Learn4Life, a non-profit public school on Rivers Avenue, for a report of a student carrying a firearm.
According to authorities, school security observed the student attempting to conceal the weapon.
School security personnel detained the student and held the gun until officers arrived.
The student, identified as 18-year-old Makaveli Mitchell, was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon on school property.
He was taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
