Man dead, woman critically injured in weekend shooting at Walterboro home

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a deadly weekend shooting at a Walterboro home.

Law enforcement and emergency crews responded to a Singleton Street home around 5 p.m. Saturday and found two victims in the front yard.

Officials with Colleton County Fire Rescue say an adult woman was suffering a life-threatening wound to the lower torso and a man had multiple wounds. The man was unconscious and not breathing.

Both were initially treated at the scene. A second woman was treated after suffering a medical emergency.

The man was taken to Colleton Medical Center where staff attempted to resuscitate him. Officials say he did not survive his injuries.

Meanwhile, the woman was in critical condition and fire-rescue officials say her condition deteriorated while en route to Colleton Medical Center. She was given whole blood and then flown to the trauma center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Her condition is unknown.

The incident is under investigation by the Walterboro Police Department.
