Heat advisory issued for South Carolina
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A warm and stuffy start to Thursday as many kids return to school but a hot afternoon is ahead.
Storm Team 2 says the entire state is undergoing a heat advisory throughout the afternoon.
“It’s going to be one of those days where most of us are pushing the mid-90s to near 100s for highs and then those heat index values are even higher,” says meteorologist Josh Marthers.
Heat index values are expected to feel like 105-110 throughout the afternoon.
Storm Team 2 says there’s a slight risk of showers and thunderstorms.
“Tomorrow and Saturday, getting even higher, it’s going to feel like 108-112. As far as humidity is concerned it makes it feel worse even though air temperatures might come down a degree or two,” Marthers added.
