CCSD is still working through network security issues after detecting suspicious activity last week
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – With just weeks until the new school year begins, the Charleston County School District is still working through network security issues.
CCSD’s office of communications said in a message to parents on Wednesday that their team has been working to bring systems online and ensure minimal disruption to district operations and network security.
The update comes days after the district acknowledged it had identified suspicious activity on its network environment and noted that some impacts existed with school telecommunications and network connectivity on some campuses. They hoped to have the issue fully resolved at all school sites by the middle of this week.
In their Wednesday update, the district said issues still existed on some campuses and added that officials were actively working to address the challenges. “…we anticipate a full resolution at all school sites by the end of the week. There may be issues contacting school personnel by phone over the next few days,” CCSD said in its latest message.
Charleston County students return to the classroom on August 13.
