Teen identified as victim in Lincolnville shooting and crash

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office (CCCO) has now identified 18-year-old Thaao Stevens as the victim found shot inside a crashed vehicle in Lincolnville.

Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Mill Street and Dunmeyer Hill Road just before 8 p.m.

On the scene, deputies discovered the vehicle had crashed head-on into a piece of construction equipment. Inside, they found Stevens unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said Stevens died on Thursday, July 25, at approximately 7:46 p.m. from the gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Forensic Services Unit, and K-9 Unit, along with the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, are actively investigating. No arrests have been made.
