Thursday night shooting near Cottageville leaves man critically injured

COTTAGEVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A late-night shooting near Cottageville left a man critically injured.

Emergency crews responded to a location off Van Dyke Road around 11 p.m. Thursday where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Colleton County deputies secured the scene while firefighter-paramedics from Colleton County Fire-Rescue administered life-saving measures.

The victim was taken to the trauma center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. His condition is unknown.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
