Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office taking a break from popular show ‘On Patrol: Live’

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) will take a break from ‘On Patrol: Live’ when the new season premieres Friday night.

The show – hosted by Dan Abrams – joins law enforcement agencies across the country with minute-by-minute analysis while officers and deputies respond to calls for service. It airs live Friday and Saturday nights on REELZ and streams on Peacock.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has been featured on the show since it premiered in July 2022. It has cultivated a local audience, who often engage with the members of the department on social media during new episodes.

“We made the difficult decision to pause our appearance on On: Patrol Live, and my hope is that after the summer the show will welcome us back,” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said. “We truly enjoy working with the OPL team, and being a part of the series offers an opportunity for civilians to have a look into the daily operations of patrol deputies and some specialized units. We appreciate all the love and support we have gotten from citizens in regard to the show.”

The sheriff’s office said it has valued its experience being on the popular show and hopes to be part of the show in the future.
